The Dragon Boat Festival in 757 AD is especially special for Du Fu. This is the second year after the "An Shi Rebellion" broke out, during the period of national unrest. Thanks to Tang Suzong’s "honor", 45-year-old Du Fu went to the official career again, and the official paid homage to Zuo.
"Fine kudzu contains soft wind, and fragrant Luo is light in snow." Du Fu can’t hide his excitement in his poems. The official clothes given by the Dragon Boat Festival are as soft as the wind, and the incense sticks are as light as snowflakes. "The meaning is called length, and the life is sacred." The length of the palace clothes is all to one’s liking, bearing the emperor’s hospitality for life. Du Fu’s career was bumpy and he was always frustrated. At this moment, he was particularly grateful for this opportunity.
However, not long after, Du Fu angered Tang Suzong by rescuing the house, and banished him to Iowa, from which he was no longer reused.

Yuan Zhen spent his whole life courting women, and he also wrote many love poems for them. Yuan Zhen and Xue Tao kept their poems in harmony, and Xue Tao also dedicated poems to Yuan Zhen with Songhua stationery. This song "A Gift to Xue Tao" was written in the first year of Changqing (821), and it was Yuan Zhen’s reply to Xue Tao.
The whole poem is almost a compliment to Xue Tao. "Jinjiang’s satiny beauty show conjures up Wen Jun and Xue Tao. Words steal parrots’ tongues, and articles get phoenix hair. " He compared Xue Tao with Zhuo Wenjun and praised her for her clever words as if she had stolen the parrot’s tongue, and her gorgeous articles as if she had shared the feathers of a phoenix. "One after another, the guests stopped writing, and all the officials wanted to dream of knives." He also said that people who are good at writing words have stopped their pens, and all the princes want to leave there like Wang Jun’s dream promotion. In short, it is a talent that makes other literati feel ashamed.
"After parting, acacia is separated by smoke and water, and calamus flowers are five clouds high." At this time, they have been separated for 12 years, and the acacia after separation is separated by smoke and water, like calamus flowers in the courtyard, as high as Xiangyun in the sky. The fact that the flowers of Acorus calamus are not easy to bloom may indicate that Xue Tao is out of reach for him.
Acorus calamus is full of vitality, elegant and handsome, and has always been deeply loved by the ancients. The ancestors even worshipped Acorus calamus, regarded it as a sacred grass, endowed it with personality, and designated April 14 of the lunar calendar as the birthday of Acorus calamus. Acorus calamus has been a "divine" plant for thousands of years. In his poem, Yuan Zhen praised Xue Tao fiercely and compared her to calamus.

Colored lines refer to five kinds of colored lines: blue, red, yellow, white and black, which are derived from the ancient five elements and have the meaning of exorcising evil spirits and praying for Naji. Wrapping arms with five-color lines has always been an important custom in ancient China, and there are still colorful folk handicrafts of Dragon Boat Festival.
"Small charm" refers to the talisman to dispel evil and keep peace. Usually, women hang it on their hair bun.
