Deng Xiaoping’s hometown is located in Paifang Village, Xiexing Town, Guang ‘an City, 7 kilometers away from the urban area. It is the only memorial park in China with the theme of commemorating Comrade Deng Xiaoping. There are four national key cultural relics protection units, including Deng Xiaoping’s former residence, Beishan Primary School Hall, Silkworm House Yard and Hanlin Courtyard, and two provincial cultural relics protection units, including Deng Shaochang’s Tomb and Dan’s Tomb. More than 20 places for Deng Xiaoping’s youth activities, such as Tombstone and Dezhengfang, have been restored. Since the opening of the scenic spot, more than 28 million tourists have visited it, including nearly 5 million young people. In 2016, it received 2,916,500 tourists.

Deng Xiaoping’s hometown has successively won the titles of national advanced unit of patriotism education demonstration base, national 5A-level tourist attraction, national first-class museum, etc. It has become an important base for people to pursue Xiaoping’s footprint, remember the great man’s achievements, and receive patriotism and revolutionary traditional education.

The house is a small blue tile roof building with hanging mountain wood structure and a funny load-bearing system. There are 17 rooms in total, which are divided into the main room, the left wing room and the right wing room. It was built by three generations of Deng Xiaoping ancestors, and the earliest left wing room was built in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. In July 2001, Deng Xiaoping’s former residence was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
