The 1.6L engine adopts iVVT variable valve timing and variable intake manifold technology, with a maximum power of 92kW(125Ps)/6000rpm and a peak torque of 161Nm/4000rmp；. The 1.5T turbocharged engine, which was put on the market later, also adopted iVVT variable valve timing technology, with an estimated maximum power of 120kW(163Ps) and a peak torque of 210Nm.
In transmission, the 1.6L engine matches the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic manual transmission, while the 1.5T engine only matches the 6-speed automatic manual transmission. For the chassis, Familia M5 adopts the front McPherson and rear multi-link design, and both adopt the lateral stabilizer bar.

As a brand-new compact model with its own brand, the competitors of Haima’s brand-new Familia M5 are naturally BYD Speedy, Great Wall C50, Changan Yidong and Emgrand EC7.

Comparatively speaking, among these rivals, BYD Speedy and Great Wall C50 are equipped with 1.5T engines. In addition, Speedy also has remote control function and DCT dual clutch, which makes the brand-new Familia M5 not dominant in technology. However, Familia M5 still has certain advantages in CVT gearbox of Emgrand EC7 and 5MT of Great Wall C50. In the future, the arrival of Familia M5 1.5T model will widen this advantage and become one of the more powerful competitive models among the A+ class models of its own brand.
