Jiang Wanrong, Vice Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, introduced the high-quality development measures and achievements of housing and urban-rural construction in the new era and answered questions from reporters.

Jiang Wanrong, vice minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, said at the press conference on September 14th that this decade is the decade with the largest scale and the largest investment in the construction of affordable housing projects in China’s history, and hundreds of millions of people are happy to live in peace. We regard speeding up the construction of the housing security system as an important task to meet the basic housing needs of the masses and realize that all people live in a proper place, and strive to ensure the people’s livelihood. The housing security system has been continuously improved, the construction of affordable housing has been steadily promoted, the transformation of shanty towns has been vigorously implemented, the beneficiary groups of housing provident fund have been gradually expanded, and the housing security capacity has been continuously enhanced. In the past ten years, a total investment of 14.8 trillion yuan has been completed, and more than 59 million sets of affordable housing and shanty towns have been rebuilt and resettled. Families with low-income and low-income housing difficulties have basically realized their insurance coverage, and more than 140 million people have a dream of living in peace.
